A traffic officer from Tamil Nadu was transferred to a police control room in Coimbatore (Tamilnadu, Tamilnadu) on Saturday. A video clip of a man handing out food on a busy street who gets slapped below the ear has gone viral on social media. Satish, a grade 1 constable from the Singanallur Police Station, slapped a delivery man below the ear at a traffic junction on Avinashi Road on Friday. After the video went viral, senior police officers took action and transferred the officer to the control room.

Mohansundaram, 38, has been working with food aggregator Swiggy as a delivery partner for the past two years. On Friday night, Mohan Sundaram noticed a private school bus driver speeding and driving recklessly. The bus was about to hit two vehicles and a passerby near a shopping center on a busy street. When he asked the driver about this, there was a traffic jam for some time.

Seeing the traffic jam, the policeman twice insulted the Swiggy delivery man, snatched his mobile phone and damaged his motorcycle. All this is seen in the viral video. Satish allegedly asked Mohansundaram if he knew the owner of the school bus and if there was a traffic problem, the police would investigate it.

According to a complaint filed by Mohansundaram at the city’s police commissioner’s office on Saturday, authorities took Satish to the control room, police said.
