The WhatsApp instant messaging app is working on a double verification code feature to secure the entire user account login process. WhatsApp is working to add an extra layer of security for users when signing in to their account. This new feature will be available for both Android and iOS users.

According to the Wabetainfo website, which tracks WhatsApp features, this feature requires verification before logging in on more than one device to a single WhatsApp account. After launching the feature, when you try to log in on another device to your WhatsApp, you will get a six-digit code on the old device. You will need to enter this code on your new device. Once the code matches, you will be able to log in to WhatsApp on the new device.

The six-digit code will strengthen the verification process. Every time you log in to WhatsApp from a new phone, an automatic six-digit code is sent to the registered mobile number to upload and backup the chat. Previously, there were several cases of fake WhatsApp login. This is done to prevent misuse of information. The purpose of this double verification code is to strengthen the WhatsApp login process and prevent misuse of personal information and data in the account.

According to reports, after introducing this feature, you will get a notification when you try to log into the new device on the old WhatsApp. It will say that this WhatsApp account is already logged in on any device. If you still want to log in to WhatsApp, the code sent to the old device will need to be inserted into the new device. This way, people will know that someone is trying to log into their account and won’t share another verification code to complete the process.
