Airtel, the country’s leading telecommunications company, has revised its postpaid plan. Airtel has reduced the validity of Amazon Prime membership in postpaid plans from 1 year to 6 months. After this change, users using Airtel’s postpaid plans will now have access to Amazon Prime for 6 months. Amazon Prime membership is available with Airtel postpaid plans of Rs 499, Rs 999, Rs 1199 and Rs 1599. Airtel also offers Amazon Prime membership along with some of its broadband plans, the benefits of which will remain the same. .
As per the listing on Airtel website, Airtel postpaid plans of Rs 499, Rs 999, Rs 1,199 and Rs 1,599 offer 6 months of Amazon Prime membership as Airtel Tax Platinum Rewards. The telecommunications company had previously offered 1 year of free access to Amazon Prime with all these 4 plans. Airtel has confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the new change takes effect from April 1. This means that users who took the plan before April 1 and signed up for Prime membership will continue to get a 1-year subscription. At the same time, the membership term for subsequent members has been reduced to 6 months.

It should be noted that the upgrade is limited to postpaid plans and Airtel does not make any specific changes for its broadband customers. In December, Amazon Prime membership was 50 percent more expensive for users. Membership is currently available at Rs 179 per month, Rs 459 quarterly and Rs 1,499 per year. Now, along with Airtel, other telecom companies may also upgrade their plans in the near future, including Amazon Prime membership.
In addition to Amazon Prime, Airtel postpaid plans come with a 1-year Disney+ Hotstar mobile subscription. At the same time, Netflix basic monthly subscription is available at Airtel Rs 1199 plan and Netflix standard monthly subscription is available at Airtel Rs 1599 plan.
