A 29-year-old man from Parbhani has been sentenced by a special NIA court to seven years in prison for his alleged links to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Nasserbin Abubakar Yafis is the name of a young man who was convicted and confessed to the crime.
Investigation reveals support for jihadist activities
Nasser Bin was arrested in 2016 on charges of having links to ISIS. He was later tried. Nasser bin was allegedly trained to make bombs by ISIS commander Farooq. The investigation also found that he was using online resources to communicate with members of the Islamic State and support their jihadist activities.
Three more were arrested.
Maharashtra Counter Terrorist Squad exposes ISIS module based on Parbhani Khan, Iqbal Ahmed and Mohammad Raisuddin were also arrested. Farooq alias Shafi Armar, a former member of the Indian Mujahideen (IM), remains at large.
