Amravati MP Navneet Rana was arrested for attempting to recite Hanuman Chalisa outside the Matoshri residence of Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He is currently detained. However, Navneet Rana has alleged that the police treated him inhumanely during his arrest. It is alleged that Rana was arrested for political reasons. The same question has now been answered by Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey. He has clearly stated that Navneet Rana was not arrested for political reasons.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey interacted directly with Mumbaikars through virtual means. Speaking on the occasion, he reported on the arrest of Navneet Rana. “The decision to arrest Navneet Rana was totally up to the Mumbai police. The decision to make an arrest is made by the police. Rana was not asked by the politicians to arrest him. We should be very satisfied with the Mumbai police. We work professionally ”, said Sanjay Pandey.

Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana had announced to read Hanuman Chalisa on the outskirts of Matoshri, the residence of Maharashtra Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray. After that, Shiv Sainiks turned aggressive by directly challenging the Chief Minister. As a result, the Rana couple were arrested by the police on April 22 at their residence in Khar, Mumbai. After that she had to go to jail. After being released on bail, Navneet Rana was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. The Mumbai police and the state government were criticized after her arrest.
