Ratnagiri: Traffic at Parashuram Ghat on the Mumbai-Goa expressway has started regularly. However, on the one hand, the four-lane work, including hill cutting, will continue until the onset of the monsoon. In order to speed up the work of four lanes at Parashuram Ghat, the District Collector had decided to keep traffic closed for 5 hours from 25th April from 12 noon to 6pm. During this period, the ring work was carried out at full capacity. About 65% of the work has been completed. The Eagle Company has completed the concreting of the road up to 700 meters while cutting of the hill continues. Similarly, the work of the Kalyan Tollways Company is in a difficult phase in the Khed area. For this, the hill has been cut using the benching method and the risk of landslides has been reduced. So while the next phase of the haul is underway, the rest of the hill-cutting work has continued. This work will continue regularly until the onset of the monsoon.
When the ghat was closed, the traffic on the road was diverted from Kalambaste to Chirani, but due to the long diversion, the carriers were disturbed. Therefore, regarding the beginning of the ghat, St. t Lotte’s workers, along with the corporation, were also curious. Finally, on May 25, when the District Collector signaled that the ghat would resume on a regular basis, the police cordon on both sides was lifted from Thursday. In the meantime, although the traffic has started, the ring will continue. Work has been streamlined by installing three to four drills in the rocky areas. Wells are also being dug to carry rainwater by removing stones and dirt from roadsides.
