Uttarakhand News: In view of the new year in Mussoorie, the administration has prepared a route plan for traffic, which is likely to affect tourism. Tourists face a lot of problems here. There is a lot of resentment against the police among the Mussoorie merchants. The merchants say that following the instructions of SP Traffic Akshay Prahlad Konde, bollards were installed from 10 am to 10 pm, so that the vehicles of tourists are not allowed to enter Mall Road.
Traders say emergency services are also not allowed to go through Malroad and traffic from Dehradun is also being diverted from Gandhi Chowk to Hathipav, forcing tourists to travel an additional eight kilometers. The Mussoorie Hotel Association and local people submitted a written complaint about this to Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi. The merchants have requested that the bollard be installed at 5pm as before.
Traders not ready to listen to administration’s plea
Mussoorie CO Neeraj Semwal said that in view of the possibility of a large number of tourists arriving on New Year, a one-way traffic arrangement has been made. Along with this, a concession has been granted to the local population. He said that bollards have been installed so that there is no overcrowding in the Via Mall. He said that the administration has made complete arrangements regarding the preparations for the new year. Jagjit Kukreja, General Secretary of Mussoorie Traders and Welfare, says the management made a flash traffic plan, whereas before everyone’s opinion was taken in a meeting, but this time the management made any traffic arrangement.
