According to the New York Post, Boontom Chaimoon, 55, had gone to his hometown in Maha Sarkham province on Sunday to spend the holidays with his wife Amnuay Chaimoon, 49. They were both having a good time but then the husband felt the need to go to the bathroom. At 3 in the morning, he parked his car on the side of the road to take a bathroom break.
The woman did not have her cell phone.
Since there were no public toilets around, the woman also got out of the car. She then went to the forest to freshen up. During this, the man was unable to see her get out of the car and started driving thinking that her wife was sitting in the back seat of her. When the woman returned, she did not see her car or her husband. She was alone. The woman did not even have her mobile phone and her wallet with her. The woman was very scared by the dark, so she decided to walk to find help.
20 kilometers on foot
The woman walked about 20 kilometers (about 12.4 miles) and reported the matter to the local police station after arriving in Kabinburi district at 5 a.m. The woman did not remember her husband’s phone number and she had also forgotten her own phone number in the car. After this, she had the police call her own number 20 times, but her husband did not receive. Around 8 in the morning, with the help of the police, she was able to contact her husband.
According to the report, when the man realized that he had left his wife far away, he turned around and came to take her back. The man repented of his actions and apologized to his wife. The woman herself said that there was no dispute with her husband on this issue. The woman said that she has been married for 27 years and has a 26-year-old son.
