Five members of the same family from Jaisingpur were killed in a tragic accident on the Pune-Bangalore highway today (Saturday). The accident took place when a car collided with a container parked on the side of the road near Kasegaon. Five people were killed in a head-on collision between a car and a container near the Sharyat Hotel at Yeolewadi Fork in Kasegaon (Tal. Walwa) at around 2:30 p.m.
The container (MH05AM3644) was parked on the side of the Asian Expressway towards Kolhapur near the Sharyat Hotel near Yeolawadi Junction, but a speeding car (MH14DN6339) heading towards Kolhapur hit the left side of the parked container. The driver of the car, Arinjay Annaso Shirote Ra. Jaisingpur, along with a woman Smita Abhinandan Shirote (38 years old) and three children Purva Abhinandan Shirote (14 years old), Sunisha Abhinandan Shirote (9 years old), Viren Abhinandan Shirote (4 years old) were seriously injured. Three of them were transferred to Islampur Sub-District Hospital and two to Kasegaon Primary Health Center. But the doctors have declared him dead.
This time there was a traffic jam for some time. Upon receiving information of the accident, the Kasegaon police rushed to the scene and smoothed traffic.
