Students should not run after jobs: Governor
Amravathi : Students need to acquire new skills as education becomes more globalized. Students have the potential to change the entire world. Students should not only look for jobs but also use their skills to find new employment opportunities and become self-sufficient, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari said on Wednesday.
He was speaking at the 38th Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University Convocation Ceremony. The governor attended the ceremony online. Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant and Vice Chancellor Dr. Dilip Malkhede were present.
“Unemployment and inflation are problems all over the world,” he said. But, the power to change the path is in the youth. After learning, we simply ask what society has given me, but we need to think about what we have given society. Many colleges in the state are named after saints and great men, because we are inspired by them. The idea is that others follow in the footsteps of these saints for the good of society.
Explaining the importance of the new educational policy, the Governor said that in the new educational system we will be able to acquire knowledge from any branch. Even a country like the US is ready to provide educational facilities in the universities of its country. Many young people with doctorates, highly qualified graduates in the field of agriculture are contributing to the development of agriculture by farming themselves. A young woman from Haryana who returned to India after graduating from Harvard University became the Sarpanch of the village and contributed to the development of the village. There are many such examples.
Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that students receive scholarships for higher studies abroad. Many Indian students go to foreign universities for education, but how many graduates return to the country after graduation is a matter of research. Only 15 to 20 percent of students return to India with higher education abroad. Students who go abroad must not forget their country, their state, their people, they also have a responsibility towards their country, these students must take into account. Students must use their skills for the development of the country while helping to teach those skills to others.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Dilip Malkhede reported on the development aspects of the university. Deserving students were honored with awards and recognition. At the convocation ceremony, 55,019 students were awarded degrees and 210 researchers were awarded Acharya titles.
