A case has been registered against Babasaheb Navnath Tambe (44), a gram sevak from Aliabad in Paithan taluka for soliciting a bribe of Rs 10,000 at Bidkin Police Station. Babasaheb Tambe has been arrested by a team led by Reshma Saudagar, an investigative officer from the Bribery Prevention Department and a police inspector.
Tambe demanded Rs 10,000 from the complainant to obtain the amount for the completion of the fourth phase of the subsidized good sanctioned under the Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme. A complaint was filed in this regard on April 11, 2022 before the Bribery Prevention Department. After investigating the complaint, it became clear that he had asked for a bribe. But Tambe did not accept the bribe as he suspected. A case against Tambe was registered at Bidkin Police Station.
