railway administration neglects amravati zws 70 | Railway Administration to Amravati…

Amravathi : Many trains that were closed during the Corona crisis were reopened. Passengers rushed but the Amravati-Jabalpur and Amravati-Ajni Intercity Express, which is still in high demand, was unable to start. Up to eight trains are still waiting at the Badnera train station. This is blamed on the negligence of the railway administration and the apathy of the people’s representatives.

Although there are three train stations in Amravati, the division’s headquarters, there is a picture of inadequate rail services. Badnera is a major railway station on the Mumbai to Howrah line of the Central Railway. 18 to 20 trains depart daily from this train station. Currently, three express trains and one Memu train depart from Amravati railway station. Three trains also depart from Navi Amravati railway station and connect Narkhed. However, train travel for thousands of Amravati residents has become difficult.

The Amravati-Nagpur Intercity Express was started a few years ago to facilitate commuters on the Amravati-Nagpur route for daily work, business and business travel. There were complaints about the timing of this express. This intercity, leaving early in the morning, seems inconvenient. The moment improved with the launch of a new cable line out of the Badnera train station. The intercity was closed during the Coronation period while the passenger response was on and there is still no movement to start the train.

The same goes for Amravati-Jabalpur Express. This express was considered important for servants and professionals. According to travel agencies, the railway administration hastened to close the train, which was supposed to reach Nagpur and Madhya Pradesh. The express was stopped due to coronary reasons and now although it has been started it still runs to Nagpur.

The railway administration has not paid attention to this, despite the fact that the railway passenger associations have submitted declarations from time to time. The Railway Administration has shaken hands saying that it is not feasible to extend the Jabalpur to Nagpur Express to Amravati at the moment as it is affecting the ‘corridor block’ between Wardha and Nagpur as per the instructions of the Railway Board and the Zero Schedule (ZBTT ) review. There is no attempt to find an alternative to this, the travel associations say. Other than this, there is no move to restart the closed passenger trains. There is only one train to and from Pune. Passengers are expected to start the daily express for Pune.

Up to eight trains running between Howrah and Mumbai do not stop at Badnera railway station. These include the Kamakhya-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Karmabhoomi, Tatanagar Antyodaya, Puri-Surat, Bhubaneswar-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Puri-Gandhidham, Puri-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Howrah-Shirdi, Pune Humsafar Express. Some of these trains stop at Gondia, Wardha, Akola; But the Badnera station should not suffer that fate, say the passengers.

The Shakuntala Narrow Gauge Railway running from Achalpur to Murtijapu was permanently closed in 2019. Shakuntala Railway Rescue Satyagraha has been started for the resumption of this railway and the people’s representatives have not paid much attention to the signature campaign being implemented .

The long-awaited railway that connected the south and the north began; But still on this railway line Narkhed-Kachiguda, Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Yesvantpur, Jaipur-Secunderabad only three express trains run. Increase the number of trains on the route connecting Amravati. According to travel associations, MP Navneet Rana has made no effort to improve passenger facilities at Badnera, Amravati and Navin Amravati railway stations. Demands have been made from time to time for the Amravati-Jabalpur, Nagpur Intercity trains to start immediately. Adding modern coaches to the Amravati-Mumbai Express will reduce the travel time of this train. Many important lawsuits are pending. If that is not accepted, there will be no alternative but the ‘Rail Rocco’ move. – Anil Tardeja, President, Metropolitan Travelers Association
