Alibag: General elections for Raigad Zilla Parishad and 15 Panchayat Samitis in the district are likely to be held after the monsoon. A draft district structure plan has been prepared for this election and notice was issued today. This composition of the district will be finalized taking into account the objections raised. Raigad Zilla Parishad currently has 59 districts and under the new structure the number of districts will be 66.

The list of Gram Panchayats included in it has been published according to the Zilla Parishad group and the Panchayat Samiti census. Objections to the draft must be filed by June 8. No further objections will be considered, the notice said.
