Hingoli: 6 lakh 17 thousand 560 metric tons of sugarcane have been milled in 218 days from Purna Sahakari Sugar Factory in Wasmat. Of this, more than 6 lakh 94 thousand 700 quintals of sugar were produced, said Amol Patil, CEO of the factory. Last year, 5 lakh 15,800 metric tons of sugar was produced after 163 days of grinding. May 31 is the last day of the season this year.
Currently, sugar cane is grown in an area of about 10 hectares in the working area of the entire sugar factory and the government has decided not to close the factory until the excess sugar cane is exhausted. With the return of the sugar cane workers to the town, the problem of excess sugar cane worsened. Several meetings were held in Marathwada to make sure there was no cane left. It was also reported that the national president of the Sugar Federation, Jayaprakash Dandegaonkar, has tried to bring these machines to Marathwada by paying more money to the owners of the sugar cane cutting machines in the areas where the factories were closed. Amol Patil, general director of the factory, said that the average of 3,900 threshing has become a feature of this season. In addition, 42 lakh 13 thousand 733 bulk liters of alcohol, 11 lakh 27 thousand 253 bulk liters (BL) of ethanol and 4 crore 95 lakh 30 thousand 960 units of electricity were exported, Patil said.
This season has been the biggest. At this time, when the heat intensified, the sugar cane workers left. As a result, the problem of excess sugarcane became serious. Before, the workers waited until the end of the season, when the belt fell. Given the current state of cooperative sugar mills, the issue of sugar cane workers, sugar mills need to mechanize in the future. Even if mechanization is not affordable, it will have to be done and it will take time.
