MLA Gopichand Padalkar today sent a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray demanding the name change from Ahmednagar to Ahilyanagar. He has also targeted NCP chairman Sharad Pawar for the riots on Ahilya Devi Holkar’s birthday in Chondi.
In a letter sent to the Chief Minister, MLA Padalkar said that Sharad Pawar, the guardian of financial partner Nawab Malik, believes that the birth anniversary of Hindu Rajmata is an event to launch Natawa.
Also, “Hindu Rajmata Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar is the inspiration of all of Hindustan. When Hindustan was under Muslim rule, Hindu culture, temples were being looted and demolished. At that time, Ahilya Devi breathed life into this Hindu culture and restored it. Ahilya Devi is the birthplace of Hindu Rajmata. Gopichand Padalkar has made such a demand to the Chief Minister.
At the same time, “So what kind of history are you going to inherit now? Mughal or Holkarshahi? It is hoped that the decision to change the name of Ahilyanagar as a matter of urgency will show that you are a self-respecting Chief Minister and not run by your uncle’s remote control.
