Mumbai: In the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections, the transfer of government employees has been postponed until June 30 so that Mahavikas Aghadi candidates are not affected by MLA discontent.
The decision was made after hundreds of letters of recommendation from MLAs to the Chief Minister and ministers in the current period of regular transfers, senior sources told Loksatta. Regular transfers have been postponed until June 30, and if there is an urgent matter, it must be done with the approval of the Chief Minister, the General Administration Department has issued an order. Although the reason given is that there are some complaints about it, the interested party said that it is a precaution so as not to bother the MLAs. In the Rajya Sabha elections, the party must cast its vote, but the Legislative Council elections are held in confidence. Mahavikas Aghadi candidates are also expected to win the votes of independent MLAs.
They have been ordered not to make transfers until June 30, after the elections, so they don’t feel like the government isn’t doing its job or get upset if the transfers don’t go their way, the official said. .
In fact, if there were regular transfers until June, it would be convenient for employees to move to new places and get accommodation, and for children to be admitted to schools and colleges. This has been considered in the transfer law.
