In the context of the Rajya Sabha elections, the weight of independent MLAs in the Assembly has increased significantly. Shiv Sena and BJP are trying to attract independent MLAs. Shiv Sena has repeatedly accused the BJP of ‘treating horses’ in this election to pick a third candidate. Now, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has demanded that the statements of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut be recorded. Somaiya was speaking at a news conference in Nashik.
In the Rajya Sabha elections, there may be two candidates from the BJP and one from each of the three parties in Mahavikas Aghadi, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress. However, the BJP has put forward a third candidate and the Shiv Sena has put forward a second candidate. For this, BJP and Mahavikas Aghadi have started reaching out to independent MLAs. The Shiv Sena leader alleges that the BJP will make a ‘horse market’ in the Rajya Sabha elections, ie it will try to attract independent MLAs by showing them the lure of money.
“Stop saying horse market in another way…”; Independent MLA Jorgewar Warns Shiv Sena
“If there is corruption in the elections, those who do it, those who see it and those who allow it to happen are all responsible. Therefore, we demand that the response of the Chief Minister and his spokesperson be registered immediately. Action must be taken against those who sell horses,” said Kirit Somaiya.
Uddhav Thackeray and his spokesmen say that his own party’s MLAs, allies and supporters are for sale. This is happening for the first time in Maharashtra. Only a donkey can commit the sin of calling MLAs horses. So who are the dishonest MLAs? This question was asked by Kirit Somaiya. The BJP will never support this. This needs to be investigated and action taken. But if it is false, then those who say it should also be punished, Somaiya said.
