Ratnagiri: Multi-purpose cyclone shelters will be installed at three locations in Ratnagiri district under the Disaster Mitigation Project with funds of around Rs.

Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant told a press conference that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had recently called a meeting to review Konkan Division Disaster Management. After this meeting, a meeting of the district disaster management department was held on the instructions of the Guardian Minister’s Advocate Parab. The entire system has been instructed to work on the possibility of 50mm more rain this year than last year.

The district will receive Rs 900 crore for disaster relief. It has been approved by the government in principle. From this fund, Rs 200 crore will be provided for underground power lines, Rs 58 crore for sun protection dams and Rs 58 crore for sun protection dams. The work of this shelter has reached the bidding process, while the work of the underground power lines is 70 percent complete.

Stating that the removal of sediment from the Shivanadi and Vashishti rivers went according to plan, Samant said the Irrigation Department decided on the locations only after taking technical precautions to ensure that the removed sediment does not flow back into the river. The Naam Foundation has been very supportive of this work. Although they had all the systems, the fuel was from the government. The sludge removal job is well done there. Sludge removal work at Chanderai (Tal. Ratnagiri) stopped; However, it has been ordered to resume.

Two tolls have been collected in Rajapur and Sindhudurg on the Mumbai-Goa highway. He also said that he would demand from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari that no charges be levied as the work on the road is still incomplete.
