Mob attack on police near Ashti Two employees…

The incident took place in Parodi (Tal. Ashti) in Beed district. Two police officers were injured in the incident. Tensions were high when the mob threw stones at the police. The riot squad was called in after senior police officials visited the scene. Police arrested five assailants in the case.

Five policemen had gone to Parodi (Ta. Ashti) on Thursday morning to search for the accused in the case filed at Ambhora police station in Ashti taluka. Two of them got out of the vehicle to look for the accused while three stopped there. Police officers Pralhad Devde and Shivdas Kedar, who had gone looking for the accused, ran to the scene, but the crowd started throwing stones at them.

Police in riot gear stormed a demonstration on Friday, driving out hundreds of protesters in trucks. The mob ran towards the policemen and beat them with sticks. Both injured policemen were rushed to a government hospital.

Hearing about the incident, Ashti Police Deputy Superintendent Abhijeet Dharashivkar and Police Sub-Inspector Rohit Bebhare rushed to the scene along with the riot control squad. Some fled after seeing the police force in the settlement. Police arrested five people in connection with the attack.
