With the Rajya Sabha elections, politics in the state is heating up. It has become clear that the Rajya Sabha elections will take place after talks between the ruling Mahavikas Aghadi and the opposition BJP broke down. The ruling and opposition parties are playing political games to get independent MLAs to vote for them. Amravati MLA Ravi Rana has made a great statement in such a general political environment. He has said that many independent MLAs are in contact with him.
The independent MLAs have erased all the addresses and all that remains is to throw them away, saying they have targeted Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut. After Ravi Rana’s statement, arguments are now being made in political circles.
He said, “Independent MLAs have fielded candidates for the 6th seat of the Rajya Sabha. These addresses are only to be entered on the 10th. The Independent MLAs had jointly elected Sanjay Kakade. The Independent MLAs had tried very hard to send Sanjay Kakade to the Rajya Sabha, including me. So even this time, the freelance MLAs have kept the address. They just want to drop it on the 10th. “Several freelance MLAs are in contact with me,” he said.
What did Sanjay Raut say?
Speaking to reporters here today, Sanjay Raut said that the BJP is putting pressure on independent MLAs whose votes will matter for the Rajya Sabha’s sixth seat through ED-CBI. “Mahavikas Aghadi is in power in the state. Therefore, we have strongly contested the elections. The issue is sixth place. For this, the BJP relies on independents or other parties. That is, it will attract them, it will pressure them. Those who are being pressured are our friends. They are also telling us this,” Raut said.
