Nagpur: The party has fielded foreign candidates for the state’s Rajya Sabha. Many local leaders have expressed their displeasure at what happened with the decision. For this reason, the leader of the Congress, Ashish Deshmukh, resigned from the position of secretary general of state. However, Congress MLA Vikas Thackeray resigned from the position of Nagpur City Congress Speaker as per the resolution of a one person post at Chintan Shibir in Udaipur.

The decision was made at the Chintan Shibir Congress in Udaipur, Rajasthan. MLA Thackeray is known to have resigned as city president under the resolution. Vikas Thackeray has been Mayor of Nagpur for about eight years. He has also been elected as an MLA in 2019. Therefore, according to the resolution of the Congressional think tank, Thackeray resigned from the position of city president.

When contacted, he said: “I have tendered my resignation from the party. As soon as the resolution was passed in Udaipur Chintan Shibir, I sent my resignation from the post of city chairman to the party,” Thackeray said.

Meanwhile, former District Minister Rajendra Mulak, chairman of Nagpur Rural District, has also resigned. But he could not be reached because he was busy at a meditation camp in Shirdi. Therefore, his resignation could not be confirmed.
