Honda Amaze: The fresh and bold second-generation Amaze is built on a new platform and comes with increased dimension than its predecessor. For the first time, Honda is offering CVT option with both petrol and diesel units for this model. It comes with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Additionaly,the car is equipped with a new 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system that offers smartphone integration and navigation.
Honda Cars India has the Amaze as its top-selling model within the domestic range and the last month of 2018 was no different as it ensured a strong finish to the year. The compact sedan managed to achieve a total of 5,565 units in December against 1,415 units in the same month the previous year at a massive growth of 293 percent. Compared to the previous month of November 2018, Honda saw 15 percent increase in the Amaze’s sales as only 4,854 units were retailed. The second generation Honda Amaze was introduced in the market in May 2018 and it overtook City to become the brand’s best-seller in India in a very little time on a segment that has proved to be highly competitive.

Honda Cars India has announced their sales number for December 2018. The Japanese carmaker has registered a growth of 4 per cent selling 13,139 units of passenger vehicles in December 2018 against 12,642 units it sold in the same month last year. Honda has posted a cumulative growth of 3.7 per cent selling 134,797 units of passenger vehicles between April-December period in 2018 against 129,964 units it sold in the same period last year.Speaking on the sales growth, Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India said,
“The market continued to remain challenging in December. However, with lucrative year-end offers on many of our models and strong performance of new models Amaze and CR-V, HCIL recorded 4% sales growth in December 2018. We are thankful to our customers to have continued faith in the Honda brand.”

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has announced a price increase across its vehicle line-up. The price hike comes into being wef February 1, 2019. Most manufacturers have increased a price hike starting at the beginning of 2019. Honda’s price hike will see the CR-V cost Rs 10,000 more. Other vehicle in the line-up will be dearer by upto 7k.
Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “There has been a huge pressure on costs owing to commodity prices & foreign exchange rates and we had been trying to hold this increase for as long as possible. However, we are now compelled to pass on a part of the increased costs to customers effective Feb 1.”
Honda has joined the list of many car companies in the Indian market and has finally announced a price hike across its model range. Maruti DZire has been a leader in sales, scoring head and shoulders above its rivals such as the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Tigor and Ford Aspire all of which are in the sub 4 meter sedan segment. Taking Q1 2018 into account, DZire sales totaled 65,586 units as compared to sales of just 4,485 units of Amaze, 9,331 units of Xcent, 8,094 units of Tigor and 5,124 units of Aspire. Sales of each of these five models increased substantially in Q2 2018 wherein it was also seen that DZire sales far exceed its competition. Maruti Suzuki DZire sales in this period went up to 74,765 units while sales of Amaze stood at 18,892 units and sales of Xcent went up to 11,585 units.
