He also said that the council should prepare a blueprint for the development goal for the next 25 years.

‘Today the budget has reached the people’

Amit Shah said: “If we look at the northeast of eight years ago and the northeast of today, before Modiji became prime minister, and the northeast of today in comparison, then for the first time the region is on the path of peace and development”. Look back. In earlier times, there was budget allocation for the Northeast, but it did not reach the bottom. After Modi ji became Prime Minister, after making many changes of government, today the budget has reached the villages and you see it turned into work, this is a great achievement.

Amit Shah reaches Shillong on his two-day visit to North East | India News - Times of India

‘PM Modi visited the North East more than 50 times’

Home Minister Shah said: “Moji ji has always given priority to the northeast. Every 15 days, a minister came to the northeast and Modi ji himself has come to the northeast more than 50 times in eight and a half years after becoming the prime minister, is the first prime minister of the country.

‘The tourism industry, education and sports institutions have started to appear’

Shah said: “The ministers visited more than 400 times. Previously there was no donor ministry (Northeast Region Development Ministry), Atal ji created it, he was stuck with the limited budget of the Northeast Council. The Prime Minister has done the job of giving a new shape and dimension to the infrastructure of the North East by taking large infrastructure projects at the Government of India level. Due to this, not only the possibilities of tourism in the Northeast have increased, but also many small industries, educational institutions and sports-related institutions are visible in the Northeast today.

‘74% reduction in insurgency incidents, 8000 youths surrendered’

The Home Minister said: “The Prime Minister has also taken up the project of connecting all the capitals of the northeast with road, rail and air connectivity. The biggest work has been done under the leadership of the prime minister, so today our north-east is going in the direction of getting rid of all disputes and the work of establishing peace here was done by Narendra Modi. Eight years ago, the entire northeast was known for bandhs, hartals, bomb blasts and shooting, due to different incidents from different groups, extremist groups, the people of the northeast were not breathing easy either. Tourism and industry did not grow here either.”

He further added: “Compared to 2014, there has been a 74 percent reduction in insurgency incidents under Narendra Modi ji. There has been a 60 percent reduction in incidents of attacks on security forces. In regards to civilian deaths, 89 There has been a percentage reduction Around 8000 young people have given up and preferred to join the mainstream, this is a great achievement of Narendra Modi ji Unless there is peace, development and education They’re not possible either.”

‘There is no need to sue to remove AFSPA’

Home Minister Shah said: “During Modi ji’s tenure, NLFT deal was signed in 2019, Bru deal in 2020, Bodo deal also in 2020, Karbi deal in 2021, Assam-Meghalaya borders and Assam-Arunachal. The disputes have also largely ended. Today, under the leadership of Modi ji, the North East has moved on the path of development. Peace has been restored to the North East. There is an example of that. Before there were many demands for the removal of AFSPA now no one has to demand.Govt of India is taking initiative to remove AFSPA by going two steps ahead.

’60 percent of AFSPA free area’

Shah said, “Today, 60 percent of Assam’s areas have become AFSPA-free. 15 police stations have been restored in six districts of Manipur. Only one district remains in Arunachal. Seven districts have been liberated in Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya have become completely free. This is a great achievement Narendra Modi ji, under the leadership of Modi ji and we want those who remain, with whom talks are being held, to lay down their arms, go into the mainstream and push for the development of the northeast.

The Minister of the Interior, Amit Shah, took this resolution

In the end, Home Minister Shah said, “It is the NEC’s golden jubilee year, the Prime Minister has put many goals in front of the Council and the Chief Ministers of the states at the NEC meeting today.” As the NEC Chairman, I want to ensure that whatever target the Prime Minister has proposed today, we will meet it 100% within a certain time frame and make the North East a fully developed and peaceful region like the rest of the country. We will, we will make it an area rich in employment, this is our determination.
