Gautama Adani News: Gautam Adani, the third richest man in the world and in Asia, spoke about his trip and his relationship with Prime Minister Modi. Gautam Adani said about his achievements this year that 2022 has been special for us for many reasons. Our initial public offering of Adani Wilmar was successful, making our group its seventh listed company.
He said that in our business model we started the company. It is worth the gains. So make the list. This IPO is also an example of the same. When we bought ACC and Ambuja Cement for around $10.5 billion, we became the second largest cement producer in the country. This was our largest acquisition to date. Furthermore, this is India’s largest infrastructure and materials business M&A transaction.
What is the meaning of getting on the rich list?
Being the third richest person in the world and the richest in Asia, Gautam Adani said that this rank and number have no meaning to me. This is all media hype. I made everything from scratch. I enjoy challenges, the bigger the challenge the happier. For me, the opportunity to change people’s lives and move the country forward is more satisfying than getting on any rich list. I want to thank God for giving me this important opportunity to move this country forward through the construction of infrastructure.

He said in an interview with Aaj Tak that this year I also celebrated my 60th birthday. On this occasion, my family donated Rs 60 billion to the Adani Foundation. This is for three special purposes close to my heart and to strengthen the foundation of the country: education, healthcare, skills development. It gave me immense satisfaction and happiness that is greater than any professional achievement.
Who are you inspired by?
Gautam Adani said that as a common man, I am greatly inspired by the courage, strength and spirit of each compatriot. In the second edition of the Green Talks series, I am inspired by the story of Arunima Sinha and Kiran Kanojia, who conquered the world despite losing their legs. He is the true hero of the new India. His stories brought tears to my eyes. I salute his spirit. Could there be any other story of courage and bravery more incredible than these? Watching his story, my faith has been strengthened. The stories of those people inspire me a lot.
tell the story of your journey
He said that I was born in a very ordinary family. In that period, we were struggling with electricity and water problems. This was the time when there was a lot of lack of infrastructure in the port, airport and other areas of India. China began to overtake us, which gained independence close to us and in 1990 the average income there was lower. That is why I had the urgency to move India forward and strengthen it. I take every opportunity for nation building and better facilities. All of our industries are led by professional individuals and capable CEOs. I don’t interfere in your daily work. My job is to show the direction to go, allocate capital and review your work.
What did you say about the relationship with PM Modi?
On the relationship with PM Modi, Gautam Adani has said that I and PM Modi are residents of the same state. That’s why it becomes easy to make such baseless accusations against me. My journey started when Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister. When he promoted the Exim policy and for the first time many things entered the OGL list, my export house started. If it hadn’t been for him, my start wouldn’t have been like this. The second chance came in 1991 when Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh launched economic reforms.
Gautam Adani said that while he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi showed a new direction of development. In Gujarat, underdeveloped areas also developed along with the economic change due to his policies. This led to the development of industry and employment. Today, Narendra Modi, as Prime Minister, is doing the same at the national and international level. This is said against me, it is unfortunate, everything is unfounded and there are prejudices against our progress.
