The police caught those who rented four-wheelers and sold them in outlying districts. Relevant four-wheelers have been sold in Amravati, Wardha and Nagpur districts. Of them, the police seized 9 vehicles, reported police inspector Dilip Gangurde.
The main defendants Bhagwan Valmik Deshmukh, Nasser Khan Afzal Khan (resident of Anjangaon Surji, Amravati district) and Sheikh Rehan Sheikh Shehdu (resident of Karjagaon, Chandurbazar taluka) have already been arrested in the case.
The investigation revealed that Khan and Sheikh had illegally purchased vehicles from Bhagwan Deshmukh. The case was registered at Pundalikanagar Police Station in Aurangabad from a complaint filed by travel and tourism businessman Pramod Sopan Tekale (resident of Mukundwadi). A case was also registered against Bhagwan Deshmukh and Vinod Arbat Patil. A team under Police Deputy Inspector Sheshrao Khatane investigated where Bhagwan Deshmukh sold the vehicles.
