Sachchidanand Sambashiv Mungantiwar, a former division team leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and a renowned doctor from Chandrapur, died at the age of 91 today (June 3) at 7:14 pm from a heart attack in the Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur.
Division Team Director of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Chairman of Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Mandal, Chairman of Chinmay Mission, Dr. He was Chairman of the Hedgewar Birth Centenary Service Committee. He also participated in the Chandrapur Assembly elections on behalf of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1967. The head of the Public Accounts Legislative Committee and former Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar is his elder Chiranjeev and the famous Chandrapur ophthalmologist Dr. Sandeep Mungantiwar was his Chiranjeev minor. He is survived by two children, his daughter Suchita Chakanalwar, Snusha, son-in-law and grandchildren. His body will be taken to Chandrapur tomorrow (Saturday June 4) at 10.30am. His funeral procession will depart from his Kasturba Chowk residence at 4:30 p.m. He will be cremated at Shantidham.
