Mumbai: The government has decided to adopt good governance rules in the administration in the last two years in order to alleviate corruption allegations made against various ministers and officials and tarnish the government’s tarnished image. Accordingly, a committee of senior retired officials has been formed under the chairmanship of Lokayukta Suresh Kumar, in charge of the state, to prepare new rules, a senior ministry official said.
A large number of complaints about the functioning of the state government come from people through Lokayukta, the Right to Service Commission and our government portal. Most of these complaints are against the administration. If people’s work is not done on time by the administration, if their complaints are not resolved on time, then the government is to blame. This tarnishes the image of the government. In the last two years there have been a large number of complaints questioning the image of such a government. For transparent and speedy administration, the government had earlier asked Dr. Madhav Godbole and DM Sukhthankar committees were formed. However, no further action was taken on those reports. But now the government has decided to take some drastic measures to create a dynamic and corruption-free administration in the state.
New regulations will be implemented to create a clean image of the government, responsible administration, quick resolution of complaints, easy administration, transparent and dynamic, as well as people-oriented. Similarly, good governance rules will be drawn up for positions of transparency, mobility, people-oriented and free of corruption in government. The committee was formed under the chairmanship of Lokayukta Suresh Kumar to prepare the rules. A committee of Bakshi and Ajit Kumar Jain has been formed. This committee will study all existing laws, circulars, government decisions and will prepare new rules of good governance. The committee has been asked to submit a report within six months, a senior ministry official said.
