Sangli: The government is making efforts to ensure cooperative financial institutions run smoothly. For this, the RBI had earlier offered insurance coverage of Rs 1 lakh but has now increased it to Rs 5 lakh. Along the same lines, a policy on the scope of insurance coverage for deposits in savings and credit cooperatives in the state will be decided soon. The government is working hard to empower cooperative financial institutions. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that the directors running the organization must work with government policy and members’ interests in mind.

He was speaking at the opening function for the new head office of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Nagari Sahakari Patsanstha, Limited Sangli. Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, Minister of State for Cooperation and Agriculture Vishwajit Kadam, Minister of State for Internal Affairs Satej Patil, Minister of State for Health Rajendra Patil-Yadravkar, Mayor Digvijay Suryavanshi, MLA. Suresh Khade, b. Sudhir Gadgil, District Planning Committee member Prithviraj Patil, etc. They were present. Initially, Patsanstha President Raosaheb Patil reviewed the career of the past 35 years in his introductory speech.

Credit cooperatives face great challenges, the entire cooperative sector faces many difficulties. However, cooperation progresses overcoming all these difficulties. Stating that the government is also taking the lead in empowering cooperatives, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar said that the role of directors in cooperative societies is equally important for the smooth functioning of cooperative societies. In the coming period, to bring professionalism to the cooperative sector and modernization, home banking services must be made available to customers through digital means.

Minister of State for Cooperation and Agriculture Dr. Kadam said that there are enormous challenges facing the cooperative sector. By voting on all these challenges, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Sahakari Patsanstha has made progress. The young trees planted in 1987 have now transformed into banyan trees. By helping workers at the grassroots level, this organization has really empowered them. He expressed the belief that this credit union will add to the glory of Sangli.
