Celebration of the New Year 2023 in the temples: On the first day of the new year 2023, crowds of devotees were seen at the temples. Long lines of devotees were seen at the temples. During this, hundreds of people were seen queuing up to receive the darshan of the deities. On New Years, people would visit the deities and make wishes for a better year.

From the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu to the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, a huge crowd of devotees was seen in the new year. Long lines of devotees were seen at temples in Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and other states. People also prayed to the Sun God when seeing the first sunrise of 2023.

Jammu and Kashmir
On the first day of the new year 2023, hundreds of devotees arrived at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, Jammu. Who wished to keep this year better. Devotees started queuing up early in the morning to receive Mata Vaishno Devi’s darshan.

Maharashtra
On the first day of 2023, devotees gathered at the iconic Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai to watch the morning aarti and offer special prayers to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha. Apart from the local people of Mumbai, devotees from all over the country come to visit this temple.

On the first morning of the new year, devotees came to see Lord Mahakal’s aarti at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. ‘Bhasm Aarti’ of Lord Shiva was performed early in the morning at the temple. It is said that only in this temple is aarti performed to awaken Shiva.

uttar pradesh
A large crowd of devotees were seen queuing up to offer prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. ‘Ganga Aarti’ was performed early in the morning near Assi Ghat in Varanasi.

odisha
A large crowd of devotees were seen at Lord Jagannath temple located in Puri, Odisha since morning. Here people watched the first sunrise of the year and also prayed to the Sun God. According to ANI, to welcome the new year, the famous sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik created an 8ft high and 15ft long sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath on the beach at Puri.

tamil nadu
There are a large number of temples in Tamil Nadu. On Sunday i.e. January 1, 2023, a huge crowd of devotees thronged the Vadapalani Murugan Temple in Chennai to visit Lord Murugan. A crowd was also seen at the Anna Nagar Church in Chennai. Prayers were also offered at the Baby Jesus Church in Coimbatore.
