mumbai In the BJP, which was once known as the party of Bhatji and Shetji, there is an image of injustice being done to other Brahmin leaders in the state, with the exception of two or three leaders due to caste politics.
Last year, the chief minister Prakash Javadekar received Dutch in the expansion of the cabinet. So now Vinay Sahasrabuddhe has been denied re-election to the Rajya Sabha. Anil Bonde was given a chance.
The BJP has a long tradition of high-level leaders like Pramod Mahajan, Rambhau Mhalgi, Vasantrao Patwardhan, Vasantrao Bhagwat, Balasaheb Apte, Ram Kapase, and in recent times Nitin Gadkari, Prakash Javadekar, Devendra Fadnavis. He held important positions in the party and in the government. Dignity has a place in the decision-making process. But during Pramod Mahajan’s tenure, the BJP should be all encompassing and stand up to the masses. It was very useful for the expansion of the party. After Pramod Mahajan, in recent years, Nitin Gadkari, Prakash Javadekar, Devendra Fadnavis and other leaders have gained important positions in the state. Javadekar, 71, who held key posts in Delhi, was expelled from the Union Cabinet last year. Javadekar has been a member of the Rajya Sabha of Maharashtra since April 2018 and his term is still two years. At present, he does not have any important responsibility in the party.
Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe is not a mass based leader. But he played the ideological role of the party and the responsibilities of organizations like Rambhau Mhalgi. He has been Chairman of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations since 2018 and holds the position of Minister. While the issue of OBC booking is a hot one in the state, instead of awarding the candidacy to Sahasrabuddhe, 65, Dr. The BJP has said that giving the Rajya Sabha candidacy to Anil Bonde is more politically expedient. From this, the party leadership is of the opinion that the current ministerial position is sufficient for Sahasrabuddhe. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who holds the position of national president, does not have much of a place in the party’s decision-making process at present.
Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the position of Chief Minister, has an important role to play in the party’s decision-making process in the state. But Atul Bhatkhalkar, who has been active in the BJP for many years and served as Secretary General of State, and former BJP leader MLA Sanjay Kelkar were not given any chance during the Fadnavis government. Poonam Mahajan, a second-time MP and national chairman of the BJP Yuva Morcha, was rumored to be joining the Union Cabinet at the time of its expansion last year. However, the Mahajan name lagged behind in maintaining caste and regional balance. Fadnavis and other leaders had promised Madhav Bhandari, who had been the Chief Speaker for many years, to run for the Legislative Council in 2014 and beyond. However, Praveen Darekar, Prasad Lad and other outside leaders also won MLA seats, but Bhandari was not considered by the BJP. Medha Kulkarni stood for Chandrakant Patil’s candidacy in the Assembly elections.
Dilemma assumed by the party..
The old BJP workers and Brahmin leaders loyal to the Sangh ideology will not leave the party or go anywhere without their lobby. These leaders will not harm the party. Therefore, the BJP has a tradition of neglecting or giving secondary responsibilities to Brahmin party leaders while delegating important government or party responsibilities to district, state and central levels. However, this has strengthened the feeling of Brahmin leaders in the party that they are receiving more leniency on caste politics than Brahmin leaders when contesting Rajya Sabha, Legislative Council or Union Cabinet inclusion.
