In the context of the Rajya Sabha elections, the Mahavikas Aghadi government in the state has started a good political debate on the issue of supporting Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati. The accusations are being made by the ruling and opposition parties. However, a publication made by the State Housing Minister and NCP leader, Jitendra Awhad, after his visit to Kolhapur, is being discussed. In a post titled ‘Bahujanavad vs. Manuvad’, Awhad compared Shahu Maharaj to NCP Chairman Sharad Pawar.

“I went to Kolhapur today to wake up with thoughts of Shahu. I easily remembered that this is how Sanatan and Manuvadis surrounded Shahu Maharaj. A great conspiracy was being hatched against him. But if Shahu Maharaj stops because he is afraid of them, what happens?” with Shahu Maharaj? By kicking all this, he conveyed his thoughts to people’s minds. Attempts to stop them failed. And that Sanatani is still not remembered by anyone. But Shahu Maharaj and his thoughts are all over the country,” Awhad said in the first two tweets.
Later in the same thread as the tweet, Awhad said that something similar happened with Sharad Pawar and compared Pawar directly to Shahu Maharaj. “Something similar is happening in the case of Sharad Pawar. Sanatanis and Manuvadis are trying to surround them. Trapped in a maze trying to unmask them. But if Sharad Pawar Saheb stops because he is afraid of those people, what about Sharad Pawar? There is always an eternal war against pluralism. All this was happening then. And time has testified it,” said Awhad.

Sharad Pawar, who is currently the biggest name in state politics, gave a positive response to his support for Sambhaji Raje Chhatrapati for the Rajya Sabha elections. But after that, Sharad Pawar had made it clear that he would vote for the candidate that Shiv Sena would say. Because of this, BJP accused Sharad Pawar of manipulating. In the context of these accusations, Awhad is rumored to have tweeted without mentioning anyone. Following Awhad’s tweet, many responded that the tweets were an attempt by the NCP minister to escalate the controversy.
