Sangli: While investigating counterfeit notes found at a cash payment center at the Islampur branch of ICICI Bank, the police caught a gang of counterfeiters and seized around seven lakh counterfeit Sangli notes. Four members of the gang have been arrested and one is on the run.

At that time, when Ghadge was noticed going somewhere in a car with counterfeit bills, he was immediately stopped and bundles of counterfeit 500, 200 and 100 rupee notes were found. Its value is 6 lakh 94 thousand 250 rupees. Printing machines used to print notes, materials for cutting notes were found in the rented house. They hid all that material in a water tank. Another suspect, Ramesh Chavan (resident of Atpadi) has become a paraganda and is being investigated by the police.
