Following the death of an acquaintance in the community, a passenger rickshaw on its way to Ambajogai was struck by a speeding car, leaving three passengers, including the rickshaw driver, dead. The incident took place near the town of Hol on the Cage-Ambajogai highway between 6 and 7 pm on Thursday.
Machhindra Singh Gyansingh Goke, Priya Deepak Singh Goke, Veer Singh Deepak Singh Goke (resident of Cage) and rickshaw driver Balaji Munde (resident of Pisegaon) were killed in the accident. Harjit Singh Badal Singh Tak, Chandabai Badal Singh Tak, Malasingh Durgasingh (resident of Jalna) and Deepak Singh Machhindra Singh Goke, Govind Singh Machhindra Singh Goke (resident of Cage) were seriously injured. The injured are receiving treatment at Swami Ramanand Tirtha Rural Hospital and Medical College, Ambajogai.
Citizens from the Shikalkari community in Cage went to Ambajogai by rickshaw at night after completing the funeral rites of Charan Singh Goke from their community. Deputy Police Inspector in charge of Yusufwadgaon Police Station Dr. Sandeep Dahiphale and his team visited and took the injured to hospital. Sub-Divisional Executive Magistrate and Deputy Collector Sharad Zadke, District Police Deputy Superintendent Pankaj Kumawat and Tehsildar Dulaji Mendke visited the scene after the accident.
