What Is Maha Shivratri:?

It’s a festival that is dedicated to Lord Shiva which is also called as the Great Night of Shiva. Although the history behind the festival varies from region to region, popular legends believe that it was this night centuries ago when Lord Shiva performed his heavenly dance of creation, preservation and destruction. On the other hand, popular folklore suggests that it was the night Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married.

Maha Shivaratri is the famous Hindu festival which is annually observed in honour of Lord Shiva. The day marks a remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in life and the world.
