May 31 is World No Tobacco Day. The member states of the World Health Organization began to observe this day in 1987. The main purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco, its possible diseases and preventive measures. To this day, efforts are underway to draw global attention to the dangers of tobacco use, the business practices of tobacco growers, and the measures taken by the WHO to deal with the tobacco epidemic. Due importance is given to educating people about what they can do to lead a healthy life.
This year, the WHO, together with various champions of health, will focus on highlighting the ways in which tobacco harms the environment in which you live. This year’s World Tobacco Day campaign will focus on raising awareness of the environmental impacts of the entire tobacco cycle, including the production, planting, production and distribution of toxic waste.
