Who is Angelo Moriondo?
Angelo Moriondo was born on June 6, 1851 in Turin, Italy, into an enterprising family. Moriondo’s grandfather founded a wine company. Later, Moriondo’s father took over the company. Later, Angelo himself, together with his brother and his cousin, formed the popular chocolate company ‘Moriondo y Garriglio’.
Einstein was also a great admirer of this Indian.
Moriondo bought two stores, the Grand-Hotel Ligur in Piazza Carlo Felice in the center and the American Bar in the Galleria Nazionale on Via Roma. Coffee was very popular in Italy during Moriondo’s time. However, the long wait for the coffee to be ready was inconvenient for consumers.
Google said: “Moriondo thought that by making multiple cups of coffee at once, it could serve more customers faster, allowing it to beat its competitors.” In 1884, Morionado presented his espresso machine at the General Exhibition in Turin. He placed the machine under the supervision of a mechanic before the presentation. Here he was awarded a bronze medal.
The machine had a large boiler that served coffee with hot water. The invention was confirmed by an international patent upon registration in Paris on October 23, 1885. Moriondo received a patent. Moriondo continued to improve and patent his inventions in later years.
