The birth anniversary of Lord Buddha is celebrated on the full moon day of the month of Vaishakh. That is why this full moon is called the Buddha’s full moon. Lord Buddha established Buddhism and spread the message of truth, peace and service to humanity to the entire world. He preached Panchsheel to the world. These are punctuation marks: do not commit violence, do not steal, do not commit adultery, do not lie, and do not use drugs. Buddha full moon date and auspicious moment
Vaishakh Pournima or Buddha Pournima will start at 12:45 midnight on May 15 and continue until 9:43 pm on Monday May 16. Therefore, Buddha Pournima will be celebrated on May 16. On this day the fast will be observed and the puja will be performed correctly.

Importance of Buddha Pournima
There are controversies about the time of Gautama Buddha’s birth and death. But many historians have dated his life between 563 and 483 BC. Gautama Buddha is said to have left royal splendor and wandered in the forest for many years and attained knowledge of the truth by doing rigorous penance under the Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya. After this, Lord Gautama Buddha with his knowledge created a new light in the whole world.
