Actor Shah Rukh Khan and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie attended the 2000 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards. A video of the award ceremony is going viral on social media. In announcing the award, Shah Rukh Khan ridiculed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Angelina Jolie’s reaction at the time was worth seeing.
The video, which went viral on social media, shows Shah Rukh interacting with the audience after taking the stage. He says, “Good night everyone, it’s really heavy because I’m on stage with Angelina. She wants to tell you something.” Angelina is seen speaking after Shah Rukh. She says, “Hey Indians, thanks everyone for having me here. Nice to meet you. That’s the decent thing to do, and it should end there.”

At the award ceremony, Shah Rukh and Angelina announced the award for Best Actress. The award was given to Aishwarya Rai for his role in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ (1999). However, Aishwarya Rai was unable to attend the ceremony for some reasons. Therefore, the award was accepted by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on her behalf.

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali took the stage on Aishwarya’s behalf and accepted the award, Shah Rukh ridiculed her. Taunting Bhansali, Shah Rukh said: “We have to confirm this so that Angelina knows that the person on the stage is not Aishwarya Rai.” Angelina laughed out loud. Completing her sentence, Shah Rukh further said, “The director of this film is Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He has come to receive the award on behalf of Aishwarya.” The award ceremony was held on June 24, 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London.
