Mumbai police said on Sunday that the cause of death has been clarified in the autopsy report of the deceased, Tunisha Sharma. Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP) Chandrakant Jadhav said during a press conference: “Tunisha Sharma used to work as an actress in a TV show. Tunisha Sharma and Sheejan Khan had a love affair. They had a breakup 15 days ago, after which the actress committed suicide on the sets of the show.

The ACP further said: “Tunisha’s mother filed a complaint after which the defendant Sheejan was arrested and later brought before the court. The court has sent her into judicial custody for four days, the autopsy report clearly states that Tunisha’s cause of death was her hanging.

A case of incitement to suicide was registered against Sheezan under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code after ‘Ali Baba: Dastan-e-Kabul’ actress Tunisha was found dead on the set of the show. On Sunday, the officials took him from the Valiv police station to the Vasai court. In court, Sheezan’s lawyer, Sharad Rai, spoke to the media, saying: “Whatever happens, the police and the court are working. He (Sheezan Khan) has been filed in court. The accusations against him are unfounded. Stating that the matter is under investigation, ACP Jadhav clarified that no angle of blackmail or love jihad has been found so far.
