Similarly, last year, on the occasion of Savarkar’s 138th birth anniversary, Bollywood producer Sandeep Singh announced a Savarkar biopic. Since then, the first glimpse of Savarkar has been released on the occasion of the 139th birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

Actor Randeep Hooda plays the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in this film. Randeep Hooda’s first look was released on the occasion of Swatantryaveer Savarkar’s 139th birth anniversary. On this poster it is written ‘Hindutva is not religion, it is history’. The shooting of this movie will start from August 2022.

Filmmaker Sandeep Singh has commented on the film. “When movies by Harshad Mehta, Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi were all the rage, I was more interested in telling the life story of Veer Savarkar as he was India’s first dynamic hero. He was the only hero who helped save the partition of 1947. Through this film, I want to tell the world the reality of Savarkar’s struggle, not only as a filmmaker, but as an Indian.”

“His brave fight for independence, his fearless personality that scared the British and his commitment to Hindutva until his last breath is very inspiring. Now is the time for you to understand this misunderstood hero. He never got what he wanted and that is why I urge Savarkar to be awarded the Bharat Ratna and the Nobel Prize,” said Sandeep Singh.

“People may have different versions of Savarkar in mind, but as a filmmaker, I try to adapt to Savarkar’s thoughts. So there will be no difference with Savarkar’s personality in the film. Savarkar was in real life. He was a distinguished fighter for freedom and we will make sure that no Indian will ever forget it,” said director Mahesh Manjrekar.
