Tollywood Drug Money Laundering Case: At present, Bollywood and South actress Rakul Preet Singh does not seem to be getting any relief in the money laundering case. Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has called Rakul Preet Singh for questioning. The ED reportedly called actress Rakul Preet Singh on Monday for questioning in a four-year drug case involving smuggling and money laundering.

Previously, ED had issued subpoenas to the actress on Friday. According to him, she has to appear before the emergency department on Monday. Significantly, even before this, Rakul Preet Singh appeared before the DA. This will be the second time that the actress will appear before the agency. On the matter, a source said, “The actress has been asked to appear before the investigating agency today. Rakul Preet was questioned by the ED on 2 September 2021. Several Telugu actors were also questioned on this matter.”

What is the problem

The Anti-Money Laundering Agency has been investigating the case of drug trafficking and consumption for four years. A high-level drug cartel was arrested in 2017 by the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department. Racket was involved in supplying LSD and MDMA and other high-end narcotics.

Drugs worth Rs 30 lakh were seized from the defendant’s possession in this case. He allegedly told investigators that he was supplying drugs to movie personalities, software engineers and even students at some corporate schools. Mobile numbers of some Tollywood celebrities were allegedly found in his contact list. On this basis, ED had registered this case. ED found that the money from that drug cartel was laundered through various channels.
