Proud! Indian films have a place at the Cannes Film Festival, Marathi films too…

The now internationally acclaimed Cannes Film Festival has just kicked off. The 75th Cannes Film Festival is scheduled for May 28. Various events will also be held at this year’s film festival. At the same time, six Indian films have been honored at the Cannes Film Festival. These six movies include Marathi movies. This is something really proud.

This film festival has started from May 17, 2022. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur shared some photos from the first day of the festival on his Twitter account. Sharing this photo, he said, “A historic moment for India. For the first time, India has been awarded ‘Country of Honour’ at the Cannes Film Festival.”

In the photos shared by Anurag, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan are also seen with him. R Madhavan’s film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ has been selected for the festival. In addition to this, Shankar Srikumar’s ‘Alpha Beta Gamma’, Biswajit Bora’s ‘Boomba Ride’, Achal Mishra’s ‘Dhuin’ and Jayaraj’s ‘Tree Full of Parrots’ will also screen at the festival.

The ‘Cannes’ of Marathi movies
Potra, Karkhanisanchi Wari and Ticha Shahar Hona, Godavari have been acclaimed at the Cannes Film Festival. Deepika Padukone has been selected to the 8-member jury of the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Deepika currently works as a jury member at the film festival. Also, Satyajit Ray’s ‘Rival’ will screen at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
