Yasin Malik, a Kashmiri separatist leader, was sentenced to life in prison by a Delhi court on Wednesday for financing terrorist activities. The court also fined Malik Rs 10 lakh. Yasin Malik was sentenced by a court on May 19 for other offences, including the Prevention of Unlawful Acts Act. Following the verdict, some lockdowns were imposed in Srinagar. “Very good decision. This is a time of joy for all Kashmiri Hindus. This is a milestone in our fight for justice,” he said. Vivek Agnihotri also shared a video.

What exactly is the case?

Yasin Malik, head of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, was accused by the NIA of inciting violence in Kashmir in 2016, during which 69 stone-throwing incidents were reported. In this case, the NIA raided Malik’s house and found some documents related to Hizbul Mujahideen. Meanwhile, Yasin Malik, a separatist leader in Kashmir, was sentenced to life in prison by a Delhi court on Wednesday for financing terrorist activities.

Following the court’s decision, Yasin Malik will be sent to Tihar jail in Delhi. In particular, Yasin Malik had refused to hire a lawyer in the entire case. He also pleaded guilty to the charges.
