Thursday, 10 January 2019: Anna University on Friday removed Registrar Ganesan from his post, following allegations of corruption against him. Prof Dr J Kumar, a faculty member in the Crystal Growth Centre of the university, has been appointed as the Registrar in-charge.This move comes after the allegations of irregularities in the appointment of faculty members have rocked the university.Earlier on Friday, the Anna University Teachers Association (AUTA) had presented a complaint-cum-letter to the Governor-Chancellor of Anna University, Banwarilal Purohit, requesting him to order the removal of Ganesan from the post of Registrar.Speaking to TNM, Arul Aram, President of AUTA said, “We had said that the former Vice Chancellor, Rajaram was corrupt. Ganesan is his accomplice and hence we had requested the university to replace him.” The News minute Source 

Thursday, 10 January 2019: Keeping the GAJA cyclone in view, Anna University has released an official notification regarding the cancellation of all examinations for various department scheduled to be conducted on November 15, 2018.Earlier Puducherry University had also postponed the exams scheduled to be conducted today.The University has not announced the new exam dates yet.Puducherry University:Apart from Anna University, the Puducherry University has also postponed all the exams that were scheduled for November 15.The examinations for all the courses which were scheduled to be held at exam centres located in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam and Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been postponed. – Source – india today Anna university

Anna University postponed examinations scheduled on May 25, 26 and 28 due to the protests demanding closure of a copper factory owned by group firm Sterlite Copper at Tuticorin — now called Thoothukudi — in Tamil Nadu. Anna University has postponed April/May university examinations scheduled for all these days for all the Affiliated Colleges of the varsity and the examinations have been rescheduled to first week of June. Thursday, 10 January 2019: chennai: As internet services in three southern districts have been shut down in the wake of anti-Sterlite protests and police firings, Anna University has announced that all examinations scheduled on May 25, 26 and 28 of (April/May 2018 University Examinations) for all affiliated colleges of the varsity have been postponed.On its part, the state government announced that Class 10 students from three districts — Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari — would get three more days to apply for retotalling of marks. Thursday, 10 January 2019: chennai: G V Uma, former Controller of Exams of Anna University booked by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption in a re-evaluations cam, was in 2006 found guilty of a marks-swapping scandal by the administration. Thursday, 10 January 2019: chennai: During his three-year term as vice-chancellor of Anna University in 2013-16, Professor M Rajaram appointed four assistant professors, one associate professor and one professor without them submitting their experience certificate, DVAC has found.The interview marks were also marked in pencil so that they could be manipulated in favour of ineligible candidates during appointments, DVAC has said in the FIR filed on Friday. DVAC said around Rs 25-40 lakh might have been paid per post to the VC. The maximum score in interview was fixed to 20 instead of 10, in violation of a Madras high court order. – Toi news updates Anna university
