Want to keep Kashmir foggy ..? | Kashmiri Pandits Association dissatisfied in Kashmir …

After the assassination of Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit, can the discontent of the Pandit community in Jammu and Kashmir be alleviated by bogus propaganda?

Sachin Sawant

The Kashmir Valley has been in turmoil since post-independence! Terrorism and mass unrest are not part of this innovation. A large number of people took to the streets two years ago when the Modi government repealed Article 370. At that time, the Modi government increased the army personnel, shut down the internet, imprisoned the leaders and restored peace. But videos of the sudden mass protests have been appearing on social media for days over the past week. The cries of women appeared. People were seen fighting fiercely in the streets. At first glance it may seem easy to anyone to think that all of them are against the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. But not all of them belong to the definition of BJP treason or opposition, they are all Kashmiri Pandits. Yes, great politics in the country for the last eight years in the name of the same Kashmiri Pandit. Tahoe, the ruling BJP leader in the country, is being tortured by the same pundits.

The movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released a few days ago. The Prime Minister directed the release of the film. Describes the atrocities committed against Kashmiri Pandits in Parliament. He said the people of the country need to know the facts about the atrocities committed against Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s. Is it any wonder that the same Kashmiri Pandits whom the Prime Minister is lamenting are paying millions to the Prime Minister in just a few days?

The immediate reason for this change was the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhatt by terrorists all day in a government office! After the assassination, Kashmiri Pandits took to the streets to break the stalemate for security reasons. Rahul Bhat is working in the Kashmir Valley Tehsildar’s office under the Prime Minister’s Employment Package. The scheme was launched during the Manmohan Singh government to provide employment and rehabilitation to Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir. Thousands of Pandits have been rehabilitated under this scheme in the last 10-12 years. There have been no attacks on Kashmiri Pandits so far but almost 16 Kashmiri Pandits have been killed in the last two years. In 2021, three Pandits, a Sikh and a Hindu from Jammu died. Why have there been attacks on Kashmiri Pandits and Hindu minorities over the last few months? It is unfortunate that the government has not taken the issue of rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits seriously.

To keep the problem hot ..

A committee was set up a few years ago to prepare an action plan for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits. The committee made some important recommendations. Kashmiri Pandits should not be allowed to separate from the majority Muslims. Some Muslims should also settle in the area of residence of the Pandits. An atmosphere of love and trust should be created in both communities. The committee said the government should try to build a bridge of emotional harmony between them. Similarly, in the last few years, Kashmiri Pandits have got many jobs and got rehabilitated. Today, about 8,500 Kashmiri Pandits live in the Kashmir Valley.

Unfortunately, the actions taken by the Modi government in the last two years have reversed the recommendations made by this committee. For the last eight years, the Modi government has been constantly raising the issue of Pandits. The Modi government is not aware that it is ignoring the sentiments of the majority in Kashmir by insisting on the repeal of Article 370. Instead of convincing the people of Kashmir that the repeal of Article 370 was in the interest of the people of Kashmir, the Modi government had to raise its chest. During the corona, people across the country witnessed the burning of lockouts. But the Kashmiri people had already had to endure the lockout. The then Modi government imprisoned leaders of various parties in the Kashmir Valley. There is no doubt that this has diminished the BJP’s prominence in the eyes of the people.

The Modi government did not stop with the repeal of Article 370. Even after that many laws and policies were introduced to persecute Kashmiri Muslims. For example, under the Immigrant Property Act, online complaints are requested from pundits. It was later revealed how many Muslims had illegally occupied the property of the Pandits. This number has not been verified. Jammu and Kashmir is now divided into constituencies. This delimitation method, considering the ending .. seems to lean directly towards J.

Instead of instilling confidence in the Kashmiri people, the Modi government is constantly creating a situation where Kashmiri Muslims have to show sympathy for the terrorists. It is naive to say that Pakistan will not take advantage of this. Hence, despite the Modi government’s claim that the repeal of Article 370, denomination is the panacea for terrorism, terrorism seems to be on the rise in Kashmir.

Do you hate to want goodwill?

Last October, Sanjay Tikku, chairman of the Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti, said insecurity was growing in the Kashmir Valley. The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was brought against this very sensitive background. As the Kashmiri Pandits Association says the film is arbitrary. The film concludes that all Kashmiri Muslims are against Pandits. The Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti said, “Kashmiri Muslims are not terrorists, Pandits have no religion.” He said the film posed a threat to the lives of Kashmiri Pandits. News channels such as the BBC interviewed expatriate Kashmiri pundits in Jammu; Theirs is the same tone. But Prime Minister Modi shrugged and said, ‘Those who have problems with this film should make another film.’ The BJP-ruled states have given tax exemption to the film. BJP leaders showed up for free. Government employees were given half a day off to watch movies in BJP-ruled states. The method followed by the BJP to incite hatred against Muslims in the country is unprecedented. I asked two general questions in an article titled ‘Reality Behind the Displacement of Kashmiri Pandits’ written in the Loksatta on March 20, 2022. Is it not difficult to rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits by blaming the entire Muslim community in Kashmir? Should love and harmony or hatred and contempt grow in all sections of Kashmir for rehabilitation? Now, most of the Kashmiri Pandits who have been rehabilitated in the Kashmir Valley under the ‘Prime Minister’s Employment Package’ have written their resignations to the Prime Minister. The rehabilitation process of Kashmiri Pandits, which has been going on for the last 10-12 years, is in jeopardy. Who is responsible for this? Who is responsible for the growing insecurity among Kashmiri Pandits? Who is responsible for the assassination of Kashmiri Pandits like Rahul Bhatt?

Although all the producers of ‘The Kashmir Files’ have now disappeared, many Kashmiri Muslims have stood shoulder to shoulder with them in the struggle of Kashmiri Pandits. Suffering from bruises and vapors. There are fears that the government will reshape the movement. Muslims have been watching terrorism in Kashmir for many years. Many generations of Kashmiri Muslims have been devastated by militancy and military conflict. They know that there are no people who can cry themselves depending on the current situation in the country. That is why Muslims came out after Friday prayers in Hassan, Kashmir and read out the purpose of the constitution. The Modi government must have the integrity to open its eyes behind this.

The Concerned Citizens Group, led by former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, has submitted a report on the aftermath of The Kashmir Files. The film’s nationwide campaign endangered the lives of Kashmiri Pandits in the valley and led to the destruction of Kashmir. It is probably his fault that terrorists killed Rahul Bhatt. The eyes of the Modi government, which has been bogged down in media support with hype (propaganda), are not open now but will not open in the future. But then time passes!
