The Mahavikas Aghadi government is standing by the farmers. It is believed that the rate of agricultural development will increase during the kharif season due to the efforts of farmers and the cooperation of the state government.
Despite the corona period, the Department of Agriculture has played an important role in strengthening the economy. Last kharif season, farmers cultivated at a record level. Young people in the state are educated farmers experimenting with modern technology. Although agriculture is a business, it is important to try to add industry to it. Against this backdrop, the administrative preparations for the Kharif season 2022 are almost complete. Branch wise plans have been drawn up to ensure quality fertilizers, seeds and stocks for the kharif season.
During the kharif season, 146.85 lakh hectares of major food crops will be cultivated. It requires 17.95 lakh quintals of seeds. A total of 19.88 lakh quintals of seeds will be available for 1.72 lakh quintals from Mahabiz, 0.15 lakh quintals from National Business Corporation and 19.01 lakh quintals from private producers.
Commercial Crop Program
To promote intercropping in cotton and sugarcane, green and amla and peas are being implemented in sugarcane. As a result, farmers are getting extra income. Based on this method, demonstrations were held on 480 hectares of cotton and 2360 hectares of sugarcane. Intensive cotton cultivation was implemented on 176 hectares. The growth of fibers was observed to increase the yield. The cotton bollworm was brought under control last year.
National Food Security Campaign
In 2021-22, the National Security Mission will spend Rs. These include crop demonstrations, seed distribution at subsidized prices, integrated food management, integrated crop management, improved farm implements and facilities. As a result, the third estimate for 2021-22 is 52 lakh metric tonnes of pulses and 165.01 lakh metric tonnes of cereals.
Maximum loan rate
Various types of loans are provided to farmers through state banks. NABARD has set up a state level committee to identify the borrower. The committee fixed loan rates per hectare for various crops and working capital loan rates for livestock and fisheries industries.
NABARD Credit Scheme
NABARD has prepared a plan of Rs 6 lakh 13 thousand 503 crore for the state. Of this, a total of Rs. 1 lakh 43 thousand 19 crore is for agriculture, agricultural ancillaries and agricultural infrastructure.
Supply activities of agricultural inputs on the dam
In view of the situation that arose during the Kovid period, the State Government Department of Agriculture took the initiative to make these materials available in the dam itself so that the farmers could get quality farm equipment at the right time. In 2021-22, 75,969 metric tonnes of fertilizer was supplied to the dams.
Fruit crop insurance scheme
In 2021, a total of 1.29 lakh farmers will participate in the scheme. They insured an area of 96 lakh hectares and the total sum insured was Rs. 2 lakh 6 thousand 708 crores. A total of Rs 148.79 crore was paid for this. 130.92 crore out of which Rs.119.03 crore was paid.
Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project
Five thousand 760 community based organizations have submitted applications for this project based on the concept of Wickel to Pickle. Preliminary approval was obtained from 669 community based organizations for the preparation of detailed reports. 31 sub-projects have been approved by the State Level Sub-Project Approval Committee. 26 pilot sub projects have been sanctioned in 15 districts.
Integrated Horticulture Development Campaign
Funding of Rs.116.51 crore has been made available under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission 2022-25. 43.59 crore was spent. 10 thousand 270 beneficiaries were provided benefits for area expansion, restoration of old gardens, community farms, greenhouses, shed nets, primary processing, farmer training and study tours. Funds of `123.48 crore were made available under the National Agricultural Development Scheme. Of this, Rs 49.55 crore was spent.
Prime Minister’s Agricultural Irrigation Scheme
Watershed Development Component 2.0 ‘Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchana Yojana’ – A total of 144 preliminary project reports have been approved in 30 districts of the state under the Watershed Development Component 20 scheme. Its basic project value is one lakh 33 thousand 556.59 lakhs and the total area is 5 lakh 65 thousand 186 hectares.
Chief Minister Agriculture and Food Processing Scheme
The scheme received funds of Rs 3,050 crore. Of these, grants were given for 92 projects. A total of Rs 76.94 crore has been given for 248 projects from 2018-19. These projects have benefited farmers by purchasing agricultural products from farmers and farmer groups / farmer producing companies.
Prime Minister Kisan Mandhan Yojana
Eligible beneficiaries under the scheme will be given a fixed pension of Rs. 3,000 / – per month after the age of 60 years for small and marginal land owners. The scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme and is open to farmers aged 18 to 40 years up to Rs. Under this till May 11, 2022 78 thousand 816 farmers were registered.
Markets were made available to farmers in 20,314 places under the ‘Wickel to Pickle-Pickle to Wickel’ campaign (Sant Shiromani Sawta Mali Rayat Bazaar Campaign). Three thousand 234 farmer groups / farmer manufacturing companies are directly connected to the customers.

A resource bank has been set up for farmers. Everyone has created a resource bank WhatsApp group through which they can exchange farm messages, videos, project information and allay doubts. A total of 7,220 farmers participated in it.
