For the first time in the history of Tata Group, the salary of the chairman of Tata Sons and CEO of all the companies of the group is going to be cut. Actually this is being done under collective measures to cut costs to deal with the Corona disaster. The salaries of Tata Sons chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of all group companies will be cut by 20 per cent. This will motivate the employees and this decision has been taken to set an example to ensure the business viability of the institute. According to ET's report, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CEO Rajesh Gopinathan announced this. Earlier, Indian Hotels had said that in times of conflict, the company's senior leadership will contribute to its salary this quarter.
According to an executive, the salaries of CEOs and MDs of Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Trent, Tata International, Tata Capital and Voltas will also be cut. This deduction will primarily apply to the current year's bonus.
A top CEO of the group in the case said, 'We will take all measures that the leadership will ensure with sympathy. As per tradition, the group always takes all steps it can to protect its lower employees.

In FY 2019, Tata Sons head N Chandrasekaran's salary was Rs 6.52 crore, Tata Motors' Gunter Bushcheck's Rs 26.52 crore, TCS's Rajesh Gopinath's salary Rs 13.38 crore, Tata Steel's TV Narendran's 11.23 crore, Titan's chief Bhaskar. Bhat's salary was Rs 6.93 crore, Puneet Chatwal of Indian Hotels Rs 6.02 crore and Pradeep Bakshi's salary of Voltas was Rs 4.51 crore.
